So I don't have a journey to speak of. I did not quit my blood-sucking corporate job to pursue my lifelong dream to explore food from across the world. In fact, my job pays for my food binge !
There are many like me. All my friends are like me. We just love the idea of some kick-ass food. non-veg is better than veg mind you ! I am the type who does not mind going to the same place again and again ...
I do not fall for pretty pics of food... you know the ones you see in the Sunday supplement of TOI ! It has to taste good !
Over the past few years, I have lived in quite a few cities. You know the drill... young MBA grad joins as an MT. Gets to be on a one year vacation with no serious contribution to the organization. All he does is make random PPTs and start things that never get finished. All that the MT has to do is travel all over to make sure everyone thinks he is "learning the grind". Then the suspense of the final sales posting... takes him to some small place. The people are genuine, place is nice but the girls are sad ! The MT saves up some money and lives out a few years before he can get a metro posting !!
My story has been pretty similar. Have lived to Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and pretty much traveled all over India. Single boys have to eat out because they are too lazy to get a gas connection... Just that some have the eye for good joints !
I will blog about the places I have discovered in the past... either from friends or from the Times Food Guide. There are many places that are still on my list.. many places I still don't know about. Let's see how thins goes ....
